IT IS RESURRECTION SUNDAY! LET US CELEBRATE GOD’S DELIVERANCE OF HUMANKIND FROM THE ULTIMATE POWER OF SIN AND DEATH. SIN AND DEATH SEPARATES AND THREATENS OUR LIVES AND RELATIONSHIPS. BUT ON THIS DAY, WE AFFIRM THAT EASTER IS MORE THAN A MIRACLE; IT IS AN ESCHATALOGICAL EVENT THAT OPENS CLOSED WORLDS; MAKES POSSIBLE AND PLAUSIBLE THAT WHICH SEEMED SHATTERED AND IMPOSSIBLE!

Moreover, the Christian Church hangs its witness and future inthe world on the proclamation that God has indeed resurrected Jesus from the grave. We sing, shout, and preach that we serve a Savior and Lord who left an empty cross and empty tomb as testimony that there is no power on earth that can keep us down.

But the Resurrection of Jesus from the grave demand responses from those of us who profess faith in the Salvation and Liberation of Jesus.

Consequently, the Bible presents us such choices as:

Psalm 118:14 – Invites us to offer a prayer of thanksgiving for the Lord has become our “strength,” our “might” and “salvation.”

John 20:28 – Mary invites us to join us in declaring “I have seen the (Resurrected) Lord”!

Acts 10:41-42 – Peter challenges us to accept the mandate of preaching and testifying to the power and promise of the risen Jesus.

Colossians 3:1-4 – Invites us into the joyous

festival proclaiming that God indeed has triumphed over death itself. Therefore, as followers of Jesus we are assured “You were also raised with him through faith in the power of God, who raised him from the dead” (2:12). In conclusion, Resurrection Sunday offers us this charge – “Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.” (Colossians 3:1 NIV).Amen!!!
