OFFICIAL NOTICE: Unity Summit 2021 Rescheduled General Connectional Board 2021

Pursuant to ¶1000.6, §2, of The Book of Discipline, Revised 2018, the 2021 General Connectional Board, previously scheduled for Dallas, Texas, during the week of the Unity Summit, will meet virtually on Thursday, September 2, 2021, beginning at 10:00 A.M. Central Daylight Time (8:00 AM Central Daylight Time; 11:00 Eastern Daylight Time).

General Connectional Board members are requested to reserve the date of September 2nd for the General Connectional Board meeting, and to expect a call for the Standing Committees and other committee meetings from the respective Chairs of each Standing Committee or the Senior Bishop for other committees.

While we anticipate a 5-hour schedule, we will adjourn when all business is completed.

The 2021 Connectional Lay Institute, Unity Summit, and General Connectional Board Meeting

Dear CME Members and Friends,

The 2021 16th Quadrennial Connectional Lay Institute, Annual CME Unity Summit and the 150th Anniversary of the CME Church Celebration, along with the General Connectional Board Meeting, will be held virtually August 30-September 2, 2020 and facilitated by Zoom.

The theme for the 16th Quadrennial Session Connectional Lay Ministry Institute is, "Laity Empowered by the Great Commission: Reaching, Teaching and Ministering to All Generations."

The theme for the Unity Summit is, "Beyond 150 Years: The Christian Methodist Episcopal Church Trending Forward Empowered by the Great Commission."

The 16th Quadrennial Connectional Lay Institute will be held Monday, August 30, 2021 beginning at 6 PM EST. The Unity Summit will be held nightly at 7 PM EST on Tuesday, August 31, 20201 and Wednesday, September 1, 2021. The General Connectional Board will meet on Thursday, September 2, 2021 beginning at 11 AM EST.

This message will provide you with general information about registration. Additionally, information is provided about the digital Commemorative Souvenir Journal that is being prepared in celebration of the 150th Anniversary of the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church during the virtual Unity Summit.

Plan now to participate in the Connectional Lay Institute and the Annual CME Unity Summit and 150th Anniversary Celebration, and to engage in powerful training and vibrant worship sessions!

Online and Mail-In Registration

The registration fee for the Unity Summit is $50. Members of the General Connectional Board are expected to register.

You may download a registration form here and mail it in with your registration fee. After your mailed in registration form is processed, you will receive a receipt.

Commemorative Souvenir Journal

A digital Commemorative Souvenir Journal is being prepared in celebration of the 150th Anniversary of the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church during this year's Unity Summit.

We invite individuals, local churches and ministries to submit an ad to appear in the Commemorative Historical Journal.

For this Commemorative Journal, we prefer your ad (s) to specifically be about how individual(s) within the CME Church have impacted you as a member, leader, etc. Your ad may promote your business, ministry, share a tribute or honor the memory of a loved one.

Sponsors will have access to a digital Program and Souvenir Journal and their ads featured in digital formats throughout and after the event.

The deadline date to submit an ad is August 1, 2021.

The scam emails are being sent from this "fake" email address: "bishopwalkerbjames@gmail.com". Please do not respond to solicitations via email or friend requests via Facebook. It is our policy to notify connectional members regarding scams that target the leadership and ministries of the CME Church. Please be aware of the scam!
