Dear CME Family,

The General Department of Communication and Information Technology (CIT) announces this month's cybersecurity training session.


Cybersecurity Training - Using a Virtual Private Network (VPN), will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2023, from 1:00-1:45 PM EST / 12 PM-12:45 PM CST / 10:00-10:45 AM PST. This training will provide a comprehensive introduction to Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) and their crucial role in securing sensitive data and communication over the internet.


The instructor for the session will be Rev. Tanesha Hollingshed, a Cybersecurity Instructor who has worked as a high school career and technical education (CTE) teacher in the public school system for over 14 years. Rev. Hollingshed currently teaches for Keller ISD and serves as a Teacher Assistant (TA) in the Computer Science and Engineering department at the University of North Texas. She often speaks about cybersecurity awareness, and has been an invited speaker for several nonprofits, conferences, churches, colleges, and universities. Rev. Hollingshed is currently a PhD student at the University of North Texas and member of the 8th Episcopal District. She is an ordained deacon and serves on the digital media and technology ministry team at Morning Chapel CME Church. She and Pastor Kenneth L. Hollingshed have two adult sons, Khaylen and Kingston

Join us at this session and other CIT monthly technology trainings. Next month's training session, Live Streaming 101, is scheduled for Saturday, November 18. The session will cover streaming platforms, purpose/benefits of live stream, and equipment needed to live stream. The session will be taught by Ronza Anderson, a Technical Director at ESPN, a young adult and member at Phillips Hartford CME Church in Hartford, CT in the 7th Episcopal District (and hails from the 4th Episcopal District).
