Passing of Rev. Esther F. Lawson, Retired Minister of the East Texas Region, 8th Episcopal District

Dear CME Family, It is with a heavy heart we inform you of the passing of Rev. Esther Faye Lawson, retired minister of the East Texas Region. Rev. Lawson was the widow of the late Dr. A. J. Lawson Jr. and served with distinction in many capacities throughout the 8th Episcopal District for over 50 years.   Rev. Lawson passed on Monday, July 13, 2020, and after retirement she divided her service between Carter Temple CME Church and Wesley CME Church in Greenville, Texas.   On Sunday, July 19, 2020 there will be a small private family service for Rev. Lawson and the family is working to have the service streamed on Facebook at 1:00 pm.
