Dear Sixth Episcopal District, I am grateful for your work during the General and the Runoff Election. Your efforts are truly needed in order to realize our mission, which is to increase voter turnout for this election.
Here are the requests to make that happen… REQUEST #1 (and main request) We need every church in Georgia to quickly start a phone banking effort. It’s as simple as this…
  1. Select a coordinator to lead it, it can be a staff person or a leader in the church (its for only a few days).

  2. Identify at least 3 or more people in your church to make calls either at the church or wherever you choose.

  3. Print out a copy of your church member database, just names and phone numbers.

  4. And schedule a day or days to make all of the calls.

No worries, it is not as difficult as some may think. I have attached 3 documents to assist you, including helpful info, a script, and a page to document how many calls, etc have been made. If you have any questions, please reach out to us at Info@FaithWorks.Vote REQUEST #2 Please review your Faith Works Voter Playbook, and do what it says for these last days. I have attached the document again. Also please see below for an invitation to see WAKANDA Forever for FREE. It’s sponsored by Black Voters Matter. Please help spread the word, this is a really good opportunity to see the film and rally the Vote!
  • Event Brite Registration Link: https://bit.ly/wakandavotes

  • Movie Screening Cities, November 29 – December 4, 2022:

  • Text the following KEYWORD (the corresponding city) to 25225 to receive more detailed information and how to register for the screening

That’s all folks. Thank you again for your time and attention to these crucial matters. Have an awesome weekend! Sincerely, Lee May and the entire Faith Works Team!

The day so many of us have been waiting for and working towards is here and YOU are the star of the show! YOUR TIME TO SHINE IS NOW. Nothing is more important than the voice of the voters, so please – go be heard. Grab a friend so you can relieve each other and hold your spots in line. Head to the polls prepared with water, a folding chair, an umbrella, snacks, medication, your fully charged phone, earbuds, a car charger, and/or a backup battery. Dress in layers, plan to be both too hot and too cold at some point. Bring whatever you need to be comfortable that helps you to STAY IN LINE.

You can review your ballot here before you go to the polls.

Polls are open from 7 am - 7 pm today. If you are in line by 7 pm, do not leave until you are able to cast your vote.

If you have any questions, problems or see something at your polling location on Election Day that you feel should be reported, call 866.OUR.VOTE (866.687.8683). En Espanol 888-VE-Y-VOTA.

Greetings in the Name of Elohim, Adonai, and Jehovah Jireh!

Two pictures come to mind seven days before these midterm elections. One photo features the late Bishop B. Julian Smith on the left of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr in March 1968. Another photo features an Albino CME Pastor, the late Dr. Jessie L Douglas! He was Dr. King's personal soloist.

If they were present today, I wonder what their response would be to the kidnapping attempt on Nancy Pelosi's life. What would they say in the aftermath of the January 6th attack on the United States Capitol? What would they say to people living in their cars because they can't access affordable housing?

They could say a myriad of things, but their actions would be the same. It would be going to the polls and voting to make the change this country desperately needs! Our democracy, morality, and ethics are on the ballot.

The fight for voters' rights is still much alive today as it was throughout the country's history. And it is time for us to use the power of our vote to make our voices heard.

Get Involved!

As a church, you can use your van to take people to the polls while maintaining social distance. Don't have a van? Raise an offering to provide Uber rides to the polls! Partner with other community-based organizations to get the people to vote.

Organize a run/walk to the polls day! Give a gas card or gift card to the person who got the most people registered to vote and cast a ballot. Have a “date day" at the polls! You can make it to the polling place or mail your ballot to be counted.

The Bible says, In 2 Samuel 24:1 Again, the anger of the Lord burned against Israel, and he incited David against them, saying, "Go and take a census of Israel and Judah." If King David took a census, why are we not trusting the same for our people when poverty has moved from a temporary condition to now a social class in America? We must mobilize and vote because our lives depend on it!

Please know that Faith without a Vote is Dead! The choice is yours, for the one you feed is the one that Wins!

In addition, We encourage congregations to consider using the church’s parking lots and/ or the front of the church building as a 2022 Voter and Voting Encouragement Center by devoting some time over the next few days to either place “please vote on or before November 8th” on signage in front of your church or designate certain times when members of the congregation will stand in front of the church holding voting encouragement signs.
